Issues that CM4RG is following

Other issues facing Costa Mesa will be added soon.

This letter originally appeared in the Daily Pilot. Ms. Rocco is the secretary of CM4RG. More updates on this important issue to follow. Right now, the focus is on writing letters to federal representatives as Ms. Rocco suggests.

Concerned about 5G Health Effects? It’s Time to Call and Write Letters!

There are some actions that can be taken by residents upset by the Costa Mesa City Council’s decisions regarding wireless installations. But as local control on the fast-tracked 5G infrastructure was pre-empted by the FCC in April, we must go back to basics and let our voices be heard in Washington.

Two bills have been introduced in Congress to reinstate local control: Senate Bill 2012 by Diane Feinstein (D-CA), and House Bill 350 by Anna Eshoo (D-CA ). These bills will not be brought to the floor for a vote of their respective houses until there is public pressure, so start calling and writing. Some say why try, as they are opposed by the White House and Senate leadership, but using our children as Guiney pigs under more powerful and pervasive RF radiation crosses party lines.

Another avenue of action is the FCC guidelines for RF radiation. The FCC says it’s safe, but the FCC guidelines have not been updated since the 1990s. Research on RF radiation safety is limited: much is outdated, inconsistent, and even flawed. Some studies say it’s safe and some raise serious health concerns, but there is no definitive evidence. Elected officials, including Representatives Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Peter Defazio (D-OR), and Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) have contacted the FCC regarding these outdated guidelines - an assessment also made by the Government Accountability Office in 2012.

They have also challenged the FCC and FDA’s failure to conduct any research into the safety of 5G technology. Even the International Firefighters Association opposes any RF/MW transmitters at fire stations “until a study with the highest scientific merit and integrity” has proven that it is “not hazardous to the health of our members.” No definitive study will be done until the public demands it by calling and writing the committees In Congress that oversee the FCC and FDA, the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Technology.

If you are concerned, call and write your members of Congress, leadership in the House and Senate, and the committees within Congress responsible for oversight of the FCC and FDA. Demand the return of local control for wireless installations, and a high-quality scientific study of the health effects of 5G radio-frequency radiation.
